Code of Conduct

Purpose

This code of conduct ensures our village hall remains a respectful, safe, and clean environment for all users. All individuals and groups using the hall agree to abide by these standards.

Personal Interactions

We operate a zero tolerance policy regarding disrespectful behavior. All hall users must:

  1. Treat all volunteers, trustees, and fellow users with respect and courtesy
  2. Never engage in:
    • Verbal abuse or aggressive behavior
    • Personal attacks or harassment
    • Discriminatory language or conduct
    • Intimidating behavior
    • Hostile social media posts about the hall or its volunteers
  3. Follow instructions from authorized hall representatives
  4. Raise concerns through appropriate channels (email: [insert])
  5. Maintain professional and courteous communication in all interactions

Facility Care

All users must:

  1. Leave spaces as they found them or better
    • Return furniture to original positions
    • Clean all surfaces used
    • Remove all items brought into the hall
  2. Kitchen and Cleaning
    • Wash and put away any items used
    • Clean all surfaces and appliances after use
    • Remove all food items
    • Report any breakages immediately
  3. Waste Management
    • Remove ALL rubbish from the premises
    • Do not leave bags outside or in the car park
    • Recycle where possible
  4. General Care
    • Report any damage immediately
    • Use equipment appropriately
    • Secure all windows and doors when leaving
    • Turn off all lights and appliances after use

Consequences of Non-Compliance

Breaches of this code will result in:

  1. First incident: Written warning
  2. Second incident: Review of booking privileges
  3. Serious breaches: Immediate suspension of booking rights

For groups: Members’ behavior reflects on the whole group. Groups are responsible for ensuring all their members comply with this code.

Agreement

By using the hall, all individuals and groups agree to follow this code of conduct. The trustees reserve the right to refuse access to those who breach these standards.
